About Frankie Masala
Frankie Masala is a flavorful spice mix used in Mumbai frankies, a popular Indian street food wrap. The frankie, often considered the Indian version of a wrap, traces its roots back to Mumbai in the 1960s, with the creation credited to Tibb's Frankie, a chain started by entrepreneur Amarjit Tibb. Inspired by a Lebanese kebab wrap he tasted on a trip abroad, Tibb sought to recreate something similar with Indian flavors, using local spices, ingredients, and a twist on the roti.
The distinct frankie masala was developed specifically for this dish, combining the bold flavors of Indian spices with a unique tanginess and slight heat to appeal to local tastes.
